Wedding Photography Workshop

Welcome to our Korakia, Palm Springs Wedding Photography Workshop!

Styled shoots serve a few different purposes – and I know the no.1 reason people go to styled shoots is that they think “if i get these pretty pictures, I can raise my prices”. While there is some truth to that, it’s a bit more nuanced. I feel the most beneficial reason to attend or produce a styled shoot is to give your creative self space to breathe, play, and experiment.

I’m not one to experiment on a wedding day, so I used these editorial moments to explore idea and techniques that I’d like to incorporate into my work. This gives the time to work through awkward posing and give you the confidence to approach your wedding or portraits session with ease knowing you have a new set of tools to explore.

Of course, the other benefits are great too: new work to share, a visual lift to your brand, networking with co-creators, but in my book – the creative play is the most important part of these type of shoots.

So, when designing for a styled shoot or workshop, here are three key factors that I always keep in mind. Let’s dive in!

1. How will this design tell a compelling story?

Storytelling is the biggest component needed when piecing together an editorial, and a compelling story will allow the content to seamlessly blend into your already existing work. This is what will set the work apart from more simple content days.

2. What details will make standout content?

It’s all in the details – and that is why it’s so important to have enough supporting details to support your story. Are you shooting destination content? Great – include a welcome bag. Is it GOT themed – then you better have the house pins to include in the flatlays. You get the idea.

3. How can we showcase high, yet attainable fashion?

And last but not least, the FASHIONNNNN! We want it to be just enough to inspire our clients and attract them and their planners, but not too far where it is out of reach and unrelatable. Sometimes it’s a modern take on a classic silhouette that does the trick.

These three elements are key components to include when expanding your portfolio. So, when thinking of what you need to fill the gaps in your work, spend your energy and money wisely on storytelling that will convert.

And if you’re looking to further expand your portfolio?
